By Tom HaysdenThe news about games and consoles being banned in Russia is not going down well with gamers.
The latest news comes after a recent ban on PC games in the country.
In a statement issued on Thursday, the Ministry of Culture and Information, which is tasked with regulating the country’s internet, stated that it had received “several reports” of PC games being banned.
It also said that the Ministry was “working to ensure that this issue does not become a trend”.
The ministry said that it would “continue to work closely with the Russian state to establish a proper and reliable solution” for the banning of PC game content.
“If you’re an avid gamer and a fan of games, then you’re not alone, but if you’re a gamer who wants to learn something new and a PC gamer who loves the idea of playing online, we hope that our efforts will lead to a better understanding and a better future,” the statement read.
The ban on the banned games is part of a crackdown on illegal downloading, piracy and online gambling.
The country is known for its restrictive approach to online gaming and has seen an increase in piracy and piracy-related activities in recent years.
The Ministry said that Russia is “not a place where you can buy illegal games”.
