The Dallas Cowboys’ season is officially over, but not before they put their season in jeopardy.
The Cowboys’ playoff hopes were dashed on Sunday when they were knocked out of the NFC playoffs by the St. Louis Rams.
The game was tied at the half when the Dallas Cowboys went for the winning field goal, but a roughing penalty by Rams safety Dontari Poe gave the Rams the ball at the Cowboys 37.
A botched punt put the Cowboys up by eight points, and the Cowboys were down to just six points with about nine minutes to go.
The Cowboys scored on their next possession to put themselves in position to win, but their attempt was stopped with 2:37 left in the game when kicker Matt Bryant missed an extra point attempt.
This week, the Cowboys play their final home game, which is scheduled for October 23 against the Carolina Panthers.
They will be back in Dallas for their final regular season game of the season, which will be played at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, on November 18.
